Today, a leading technology management and consulting firm, Quest has announced that it will be partnering with Desktone, Inc. a leading provider of Desktops-as-a-Service. This partnership will allow Quest to offer full-featured and cost-effective desktops on-demand to their customer’s devices.
Quest, a NetApp Service Proivder Partner, is able to work closely with Desktone, Inc. as a result of the DaaS provider’s recent collaboration with NetApp in August of 2011. Quest currently provides solutions and technology consulting to a wide range of enterprises, from the SMB to the Fortune 500 company. Quest is excited to be able to offer turnkey virtual desktops and servers to their customers. Tim Burke, CEO of Quest, explained in a press release today: “With the rise in workforce mobility, we’re seeing demand from our customers for technology solutions that support all types of devices, from smartphones and tablets to MacBooks and PCs. We evaluated traditional virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) vendors but realized they are missing many of the features required by service providers. With Desktone’s DaaS expertise and NetApp’s extensive storage technologies we’re able to quickly provide our customers with flexible, secure virtual desktops whenever and wherever they are needed.”
Desktone, Inc. currently has the only multi-tenant virtual desktop platform in the channel. They offer a highly flexible DaaS solution with easy provisioning. Peter McKay, CEO of Desktone, Inc., is excited to be working with Quest: “Service providers are looking for a complete desktop ‘as a service’ solution for their customers and are finding that shared desktop technologies and traditional VDI can’t provide the flexibility, performance or ROI they require. These technologies, which were built for on-premise deployments, cannot be moved to a cloud service delivery model. We’re extremely pleased that such a prominent IT outsourcing provider chose Desktone to deliver DaaS.”
Quest plans to offer its DaaS solution starting in February of 2012. They are also hosting a free webinar on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 11:00am Pacific titled: “The Cloud: A New Alternative to Desktop Virtualization.” To register for the webinar, please see the site here, or for general information about the solution, see the site here.
