D&H DISTRIBUTING TO DONATE 1% OF
US AND CANADIAN SALES FROM
JAPAN-BASED VENDORS MARCH 17 - 18
TO TSUNAMI/QUAKE RELIEF
— In Support of its Long-term Partners in Japan and the Rest of the Japanese Nation, D&H Will Donate Revenue Estimated in the Tens of Thousands to Relief for the March 11 Disaster —
HARRISBURG, PA, March 16, 2011 – Computer and consumer electronics distributor D&H Distributing announces it will donate 1% of its US and Canadian sales from products by Japanese-based vendors this Thursday and Friday (March 17 to 18) to The American Red Cross for relief efforts associated with the March 11 tsunami and earthquake. The amount of this donation is estimated to reach tens of thousands of dollars, based on average sales. Vendors include Brother, Buffalo, Canon, Casio, Epson, Fuji, JVC, Konica, Nikon, Nintendo, Olympus, Optoma, Panasonic, Ricoh, Sharp, Sony, Toshiba, Yamaha and many more.
D&H has maintained close, often decades-long relationships with a roster of manufacturers headquartered in Japan, which has made both the executives and the staff very sensitive to the challenges faced by that country in the wake of these events. D&H personnel also plan to devote the efforts of “D&H Cares,” the company’s employee-run charity foundation, to Japanese relief funds as a supplement to the distributor’s corporate contribution.
"We are dedicated to seeing the success of Japan as it rebuilds its homes and facilities. Their contribution to the high-tech industries has been immeasurable,” said Dan Schwab, co-president at D&H Distributing.

In wake of the tragic 8.9 magnitude earthquake that resulted in a massive tsunami that struck Japan on Friday, Google has launched their People Finder application . The Google Crisis Response page is for those looking for someone or those with information about someone.
Simply stated on their page, you can click either of the two options. The “enormously powerful “tsunami as quoted by Prime Minister Naoto Kan has demolished buildings, gutted their power, and ravaged their transportation with even a train missing. The earthquake toppled vehicles off of bridges and into the death trap waters below. The impetuous waves flowed mercilessly over farmland, sweeping away boats, trailers, and misplacing houses onto highways as if it was a broom brushing the debris away, or a toddler playing with their toys.
This is a tragic act of Mother Nature, devastating the coasts of Japan. The death toll is at 1,000 with 88,000 missing. SMB Nation’s heart goes out to all those involved. We hope that Google’s People Finder page will help the affected find their loved ones. You never know what each day will bring you, live in the moment and reach for the impossible.
